Day 6 – St. Lucia

Monday, February 9

          We had visited St. Lucia in December of 2024 right around the corner from the port at a Sandals resort, so we chose not to do a shore excursion today.  We walked around the shops in Castries and then went back to the ship:

          TIP:  When at the forward elevator bank (the one with the couch in the middle as seen here), press the button on both sides.  Each button only works for the two elevators next to the button, not all four of them.  We found that sometimes there would be an elevator in the other bank sitting right there and would open immediately if you remembered to push the other button.

          Speaking of elevators, even with 900 people, we almost never ran into anyone else on the elevator.  After being jammed in like sardines on some of the other cruise lines we've been on, this was a very refreshing change.

          After turn down, we returned to our suite to find a note that our excursion for tomorrow, "Coastal Kayaking and Snorkeling on a Remote Coral Reef", had been cancelled due to weather.

          The ship was definitely rolling considerably this evening--not violently or enough to make us sick, but we had to walk carefully and adjust our balance as we were moving around the ship.
