Explora II Cruise - February, 2026
Day 3 – Sea Day
Friday, February 6
Let's talk about water. There are no disposable plastic bottles on Explora, so your room attendant will keep two carafes full for you (we asked for still water, but you can also have sparkling or one of each:
You are also given a water bottle for each person in the suite. There are refilling stations around the ship. There might be more, but we always used either the one next to Crema Cafe on Deck 5 or the one in the Emporium Marketplace on Deck 11:
Here's the casino on Deck 4. I never actually went inside. From the outside, it looked like it might be smaller than our suite! Okay, that's an exaggeration, but compared to most ships, this casino is definitely miniscule.
Later, we were in the Journeys Lounge attending a workshop on drawing animals. It was all going well until a woman and her husband showed up about 45 minutes into the workshop and she started loudly enquiring about what we were doing. She moved to the middle of the lounge and had a very long conversation with another couple who were also in the middle of drawing. The presenter had a microphone. She was so loud she was drowning his voice out. For the sake of this story, we will call her "Marge" (not her real name).
After a few minutes, her husband (who I'll call "Fred") seemed to recognize she was interrupting and went over to the top of the stairs and began whisper-shouting her name, "Marge! Marge! Marge!" She finally made her way back toward the exit and re-counted her entire conversation back to Fred as they were leaving. Why am I mentioning this? Because Marge will make some other appearances later. Stay tuned! :-)
On Explora, rooms are still serviced twice per day. After our suite had been cleaned this morning, we were gifted this beach bag:
Here's a peek at the kid's club on Deck 11. I think I saw a total of maybe 3 kids on our sailing. Only once out of the 10 days did I see anyone in this club and it was only one poor lonely kid by his self:
Our dinner this evening was at Fil Rouge:
Crab cake:
Salad and French onion soup:
Lobster with bisque and risotto:
Hanger steak:
Desserts:
We got back to our suite and our attendant had delivered these two towels to us with one of the most polite notes ever about getting charged for them if we don't bring them back from St. Thomas tomorrow:
Final step count for Day 3:
